1. About These Terms

These terms govern your use of the tutoring services provided by Maths with Shaily, operated by Shaily Gaurav ("we", "us", "our"). By booking a lesson or purchasing a lesson pack, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

2. Services

We provide private online maths tutoring for GCSE, A-Level, and adult learners. Sessions are delivered 1:1 or in small groups via Zoom or Google Meet. We also offer:

3. Booking and Payment

Lessons and lesson packs can be booked by contacting us via the website or by purchasing directly through our Stripe payment links. All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include no VAT (tutoring services are VAT exempt for individual tutors below the VAT threshold in the UK).

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your card details. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Lesson packs (5 or 10 sessions) are paid upfront. Sessions within a pack should be used within 3 months of purchase unless otherwise agreed.

4. Scheduling

Lesson times are agreed between the tutor and the student (or parent/guardian). We aim to offer regular weekly slots where possible. Scheduling changes can be made by mutual agreement with reasonable notice.

5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both parties:

If we need to cancel a lesson, we will give as much notice as possible and offer a rescheduled session or full refund. If we cancel a lesson with less than 24 hours' notice, you will receive a complimentary additional 15 minutes added to your next session as a goodwill gesture.

How to Cancel or Reschedule

To cancel or reschedule a lesson, please contact us as early as possible by email at maths@talvika.com or by the messaging method agreed with your tutor. Cancellation notice is counted from the time we receive your message.

6. Refunds

Refunds will be processed via the original payment method (Stripe) and will typically appear in your account within 5–10 working days. If you believe a refund is due, please contact us at maths@talvika.com.

7. Free Introductory Lesson

We offer one free 30-minute introductory lesson per student. This session is an opportunity to assess the student's needs and determine suitability. There is no obligation to continue after this session. This offer cannot be combined with other discounts or offers.

8. Online Lesson Requirements

All 1:1 lessons are delivered online. To participate, students will need:

We are not responsible for technical issues on the student's side. If a technical issue on our side prevents a lesson from being delivered, the session will be rescheduled at no charge.

9. Safeguarding

The safety of students is our priority. Shaily holds a current enhanced DBS check. All online sessions involving children under 18 should have a parent or guardian aware that the session is taking place. We follow safeguarding best practices in line with UK guidance for private tutors.

Note for parents: While we do not require a parent to be present during every session, we recommend that parents of younger students remain nearby and that the lesson takes place in a shared/open area of the home.

10. Intellectual Property

All learning materials, worksheets, and resources provided by Maths with Shaily are for the personal use of the student only. They may not be redistributed, shared publicly, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.

11. Liability

Maths with Shaily provides tutoring to supplement school education. We do not guarantee specific exam results or grades. While we are committed to supporting each student's progress, academic outcomes depend on many factors including the student's effort, attendance, and engagement.

Our total liability in connection with any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us at maths@talvika.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 14 days.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify existing clients of any material changes by email.
